Padmé Amidala was born Padmé Naberrie in a small mountain village on the planet Naboo to Ruwee and Jobal Naberrie. Recognized as one of the planet's best and brightest, she was put in the Junior Legislature program. She rose through the ranks quickly, becoming an Appretice Legislator at age 11. At 14, she was elected queen of the planet after King Veruun abdicated. When the Trade Federation took over the planet and tried to force her to sign the treaty that would make the occupation legal, she refused and was sent to the prison camps. She was rescued by two jedi knights, who took her and a selection of soldiers and other servants on board a starship and headed for Coruscant. However, during the battle that ensued, the ship was forced to make an emergency landing on Tatooine, a planet controlled by Hutts. Sometime in between the take off and the landing, the queen switched places with one of her handmaidens, Sabé, so as to protect herself. In disguise, she was among the party that went into the nearby city of Mos Espa to find a replacement hyperdrive generator. Unfortunately, the only dealer in the city was a force immune Toydarian who wouldn't except Republic Credits. The group also met his slave, a human boy by the name of Anakin Skywalker. Taking an immediate liking to the boy, they stayed with him when a sandstorm hit. While Padmé didn't agree with it, the only way to get the parts was through betting on the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace. Using the boy's exceptional racing skills and the Toydarian's greed, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn got the parts and managed to free the boy. When the assorted group finally made it to Coruscant, the young queen witnessed first hand the inherent corruption of the political system, as the Trade Federation began win over the senate. On the advice of Senator Palpatine, she called for a vote of no confidence in Supreme Chancellor Finis Vallorum. While Senator Palpatine held up Naboo's argument in the Senate, Amidala returned to Naboo. Mustering a grand army of local Gungans and a few pilots, she organized an army that defeated the Trade Federation and ended their occupation of the planet. Shortly afterwards, she stepped down as monarch. On the request of the new monarch, Queen Jamilia, she became the new senator, as Palpatine had been elected the new Chancellor. As the Separatist movement gained momentum, Amidala was one of few senators in favor of a peaceful solution. On the day of the Military Creation Act Vote, the Senator's ship was attacked on the docking bay. Among the seven fatalities was her beloved handmaiden, Cordé. Due to this, Palpatine recomended that a pair of Jedi be hired to uncover the murderer. She was against this, so Palpatine sent for Obi-Wan Kenobi, one of the Jedi that rescued her during the occupation of Naboo, and his apprentice, whom she was delighted to discover was Anakin Skywalker, now 20 years of age. When a second attempt on her life was made, the two Jedi pursued the would-be murderess, who they cornered in a bar. She was about to reveal who had hired her, when she was killed by a man in Mandalorian Battle Armor. Anakin was sent to escort Padmé to Naboo, while Obi-Wan went to Kamino, which he had pin pointed as the source of the assasination attempts. While on the planet, she grew closer to Anakin, becoming romantically involved, made difficult by the Jedi forbidding of romantic attachment. When Anakin sensed that his mother was in danger, they headed to Tatooine. When Anakin discovered his mother was dead, he became dark and brooding. This was shortlived however, as they recieved a transmission from Obi-Wan, who had uncovered the location of the Separatist movement on Geonosis before being captured. Padmé and Anakin went to save Obi-Wan. However, they were captured and were sentenced to death. Their execution errupted into the Battle of Geonosis, during which Padmé sustained injuries that caused her to fall out of the troop carrier she was on. Anakin panicked and almost made the pilot put the ship down, but Obi-Wan disswaded him. A little while later, she was found by a troop and survived. After the Battle, she and Anakin were wed in a secret ceremony on Naboo, witnessed only by their droids. During the Clone Wars, the couple's respetive duties drove them apart, specifically Padmé, who was ever fleeing the Separatists, who had had a bounty placed on her head out of a grudge. She spent most of the time on Coruscant or Naboo under the guard of Captain Typho. While visiting with Jedi Master Yoda on her Naboo Yacht, he sensed a disturbance at the Jedi Temple on Ilum. Padmé agreed to take him there, against the wishes of her overprotective head of security. During the Clone Wars, she served as a prominent figure. Near the end, she gave birth to twins, around the same time as her husband fell to the dark side. To stop her corrupted husband from finding the children, she sent them to seperate planets. What happened to her is unknown, though she probably perished shortly after.
