Dengar begun his work with machines helping his father repair Corellian swoop racers, which , naturaly, lured him into the sport.  But, his live changed forever when he competed in an illegal race with Han Solo through the Crystal Swamps of Agrilat.  His head ended up as a shishkabob.  He incredibly survived, the Imperials saw value in him and turned him into a Cyborg, completly wiped of all emotions, exept rage.  He was nearly invincable, he then took up assasinating.  He always invisioned that his victim was Solo.  This earned him the nickname of Payback.  He also was a gladiator for a while, but when he heard about the high-price on Solo's head, he took off in the Jumpmaster 5000 he called The Punishing One, and became a unofficial member of the Bounty Hunters' Guild.  After the Battle of Yavin, he was sent on a mission to find Han Solo by Jabba the Hutt, this took him half-way across the galaxy and still failed.  He left the Empire when they gave the the order to assasinate the Holy Children of Asrat.  He then started going after Imperial targets.  When teamed with other hunters like Boba Fett, he captured Solo and Chewbacca, but they escaped.  He went through one heck of an adventure  on the planet Aruza involving the killing of Sinick Kritkeen, and the rescue of the beautiful  woman Manaroo.  After several more Imperial assasinations, the Rebel Alliance were convinced of Dengar sincirity, they gave him the coordinates for the base and other information.  Dengar exepted, only so he could kill Han Solo.  However when he got to the Hoth system, Darth Vader captured him, luckily (quoting Vader) "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am," and Dengar was allowed a second chance.  When he tracked Solo to cloud City (and was beaten to the loot by Boba Fett) he discovered the same woman he had rescued back when dancing in the casino.  They escaped when Cloud City fell to the feet of the Empire.  Manaroo then used an Attanni link to restore many emotions the Empire had burned from Dengar's psyche.  The two of them then fell in love.  On the Blimph moon, Dengar hoped to gain the bounty of Lando Calrissian for Quaffug the Hutt, however he failed.  Eventually he and Manaroo reach the desert planet of Tatooine, where he was wanted in Jabba the Hutt's court.  But Manaroo was enslaved as a dancer and Dengar tossed out.  After Jabba's death, he and Manaroo found Boba Fett, who had been regurgetated by the Sarlacc.  After nursing Fett back to health, they became partners.  Dengar and Boba wasted no time in going after the industrialist, Kuat of Kuat.  Meanwhile, Manaroo placed a bet with a famous Gambler on Dengars survival.  This earned her a large amount of money after that was all over.  Flushed with sucess, they were wed.  Years later he and Fett were still partners, however lesser hunters were trying to steal some of his thunder, including Gunner Groth, until Mara Jade killed him on planet Rishi.  The partnership ended with the return of the Emperor when Slave II bounced off Byss' plantary shields.  Now going solo, he freelanced for Grappa the Hutt.  He then joined the quest for the Bornan Thul bounty during the Diversity Alliance crisis, wich brought him face-to-face with his nemisis' twin children.  Altough he is definately not dead, no one is quite sure where he is.
