Dooku was born to a family of nobles and taken away to become a Jedi. He was assigned to Master Thame Cerulian and was soon a full fledged Jedi Knight. Mid way in his career, found out he was one of the Counts of Serenno. This, however did not stop his service, as he stayed in the Order until the Battle of Naboo. He quit the Order upon learning of the death of his former apprentice, Qui-Gon Jinn and joined the Sith Lord Darth Sidious as his apprentice. As a first assignment, He recruited the bounty hunter Jango Fett to be a template for a clone army. Ten years later, he headed the separatist movement, which caused many planets to secede from the republic. When Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi tracked him down on Geonosis, he sentenced him to death. However, his execution errupted into the battle of Geonosis, during which Dooku was brought into conflict with Jedi Master Yoda, from which he barely escaped. With the Clone Wars in full effect, he fully embraced the dark side, taking the Sith name Darth Tyranus, hiring dark side adepts, such as Asaji Ventress and the bounty hunter Durge. Near the end of the Wars, he was killed to make way for a new apprentice, Darth Vader.
