Malak was a Jedi Knight during the Mandalorian Wars. He and Revan were the most famous Jedi in the galaxy. Malak and Revan were heroes at the end of the wars. However, Malak and Revan were not as pure as many thought. They discovered the existence of an evil artifact known as the Star Forge, a factory feuled by the dark side of the Force. He and Revan went on a search, finally finding it and launching a vendetta against the Republic. During the war, Malak lost his jaw and voice box, replacing them with mechanical components. Wanting to take charge of the Sith fleet, Malak tipped the Jedi off about Revan's location. A Jedi taskforce led by Bastila Shan boarded the ship. The two engaged in a heated lightsaber duel which ended with Revan's death. Or so many people believed. In reality, Revan's mind was wiped and given an alternate identity. Malak continued to fight the Republic and was disturbed to discover that Revan had teamed up with Bastila in an attempt to find the Star Forge. During their search, Malak caught them and brought them on board the Leviathan, where he revealed Revan's true identity. He and Revan dueled for awhile, before Bastila cut in and held him off while Revan and the rest of his crew fled to their ship. He turned Bastila to the dark side and sent her to defeat Revan. Different reports on what happened after this point vary. However, one thing the reports all have in common is that Malak was killed by Revan.
