Like all Ortolan, Max Rebo had a great love of food, which got him in trouble often. His first real job in the music world was working for Evar Orbus. After Orbus's death, he headed up the remainder, plus a few others, as the Max Rebo Band. He secured them a well-paying life time gig at Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine. However, Max demanded that their pay be given in the form of gourmet food. This caused his fellow band mates extreme anger. He was among the select band members to travel across the Dune Sea to the Skywalker execution.  After Jabba's death, Rebo joined the Rebel Alliance. After the war, he started a successful chain of restaurants and retired to Coruscant extremely rich.
